In 2024, Yunnan Guotai Metal Co., Ltd.'s 80000 ton sponge titanium production line will meet the standard and reach production three months ahead of schedule, making Lufeng the world's largest sponge titanium production base, accounting for over 25% of the global market share. The production of chloride titanium dioxide ranks among the top three in the country and has become an important production base in China.
Innovate investment models and expand cooperation space. Lufeng City cleverly utilizes unique dinosaur culture resources and strategically cooperates with Weiguang Huitong to introduce titanium metal for landscape sculpture, architectural decoration, etc. in the construction of dinosaur culture projects, integrating culture and industry, and exploring new market application space for titanium industry. Signed a collaborative development agreement with Wuding County to deepen cooperation in various aspects such as titanium ore resource sharing, upstream and downstream division of labor and cooperation in the industrial chain, and co construction and sharing of industrial parks, to create a cross regional titanium industry collaborative development demonstration zone and enhance overall competitiveness and efficiency. In addition, Yunnan Guotai Metal Co., Ltd. has launched equity investment promotion and signed cooperation agreements with Yunnan Jinzhongzi No.2 Equity Investment Fund Partnership Enterprise, Longbai Group Co., Ltd., etc., introducing 2.272 billion yuan in strategic investment, promoting enterprise technology research and development, market expansion, and international operation upgrading, and accelerating the internationalization process of the titanium industry in Lufeng City.

Vigorously promote the deep integration of industry, academia and research, and strengthen the foundation for the development of the titanium industry. On November 8, the Green Titanium Modern Industry College of Kunming University of Science and Technology and the Titanium Industry Technology Research Institute were inaugurated. On that day, Chengdu Bailufeng Titanium Industry Co., Ltd., Kunming University of Science and Technology and Shenzhen Advanced Technology Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences were urged to sign a cooperation agreement on the 2025 science and technology plan project of the Department of Science and Technology of Yunnan Province in the field of new materials, focusing on the technical research, development and industrialization of high-end barium titanate powder production of titanium dioxide, and improving the scientific and technological content and added value of the titanium industry. The college is provided with educational facilities by Lufeng, and combines the advantages of both parties to establish five undergraduate majors including Materials Science and Engineering. It adopts a "2+2" collaborative training model of "major+enterprise+project". At present, there are 31 titanium industry enterprises in Chuxiong Prefecture, which have formed a complete industrial chain and achieved an output value of 8.861 billion yuan in 2023.

At present, 10 major projects have been successfully signed and implemented in Lufeng, including the Long Bai 300000 ton/year high calcium magnesium titanium slag deep impurity removal upgrade large-scale boiling chlorination raw material project, Yunnan Dongscandium New Materials Co., Ltd. chlorination waste liquid/waste comprehensive recovery scandium vanadium valuable metal project, Yunnan Guotai Metal Co., Ltd. 30000 ton titanium alloy production line construction project, and Long Bai Lufeng Titanium Industry Co., Ltd. 60000 ton/year chlorination method titanium dioxide production line technological transformation and capacity expansion and resource comprehensive utilization project. 123 professional talents have been trained, and 5 new high-end titanium alloy products have been developed, demonstrating the unlimited vitality and huge potential of Lufeng's titanium industry.
