Kangtai Er is an enterprise in Loudi Economic Development Zone that owns research and development, production, and sales of titanium products. It is a subsidiary of Hunan Wujiang Holdings Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Wujiang Group"). At present, Wujiang Group is cooperating with Hunan Hongwang Group Co., Ltd. and other enterprises, and has signed a titanium industry supply chain cooperation agreement with the municipal government to promote the development of the titanium material industry in Loudi.
Titanium is known as the "space metal" and "ocean metal". Titanium alloy has the characteristics of high strength, lightweight, and corrosion resistance, and is an important strategic new material in the 21st century. In recent years, with the continuous expansion of application scenarios, the titanium industry has ushered in a golden period of development. Taking the opportunity of building a "material valley" in the central region, Loudi is promoting the extension, strengthening, and supplementation of the steel new material industry chain, accelerating the construction of a billion dollar titanium material industry cluster, and using the "titanium engine" to promote the further upgrading of the "material valley" industry, promoting the advanced manufacturing industry to leap towards high-end development.
Our province attaches great importance to the construction of the titanium material industry park, and has included the Loudi titanium material industry in the provincial key industry plan. We have also issued policy documents to support the high-quality development of the Loudi titanium material industry chain, providing support in major industrial project layout, scientific research platform construction, high-end talent attraction, special financial support, etc., to help Loudi build a carrier for the titanium material industry in the province, and promote the formation of a virtuous cycle of "technology research and development - achievement transformation - market application".
As the core leading area for the development of the titanium material industry in Loudi, Loudi Economic and Technological Development Zone took the lead and successfully started the construction of the Hunan Titanium Material Industry Park project (Phase I) in February 2024, with an investment of 3 billion yuan in the construction of titanium plate and strip production lines and titanium steel aluminum composite plate and strip production lines. Since the beginning of this year, the district has successfully signed multiple projects in the collective signing activity of the titanium materials (Loudi) full industry chain investment promotion project and the China industrial transfer and development docking activity (Hunan), covering the entire process of titanium material purchase and sales, research and development, production, and application.
Among them, the Wujiang Group, which signed the contract on site, has a reserve of 7 million tons of titanium resources and a full industry chain of domestic high-end composite titanium production, which can ensure worry free titanium resources. The chairman of the group, Xiao Anjiang, said, "Loudi has a favorable investment environment and industrial resource advantages. We plan to invest an additional 10 billion yuan to help Loudi build a titanium supply chain center." In particular, Liangang has the domestic hot rolling technology and strong research and development capabilities, presenting an industrial chain advantage of "steel strip titanium and synergistic efficiency" in the field of "steel titanium integration". We plan to build the titanium material industry into the third growth pole after high-end wear-resistant steel and silicon steel, and become an important link in Loudi's efforts to build a titanium material industry cluster.
We will anchor the goal of the 'Material Valley' in the central region and further work together to build the 'Central Titanium Valley' with an investment scale of 60 billion yuan and a coverage area of nearly 20 square kilometers. The first phase plans to build a 5 square kilometer titanium material industrial park. At present, the district is making every effort to build a titanium supply chain public warehouse, a titanium material distribution center, a titanium futures delivery warehouse, a titanium industry exhibition center, a titanium alloy component technician center, a customized production base, a regional titanium waste recycling and strengthening center, and other platforms, striving to achieve full coverage of 48 hour distribution of titanium products in the surrounding 8 provinces' markets and continuously improve the industrial "ecosystem".
Loudi is located in the geometric center of Hunan Province and is a key city in the strategic pivot of Hunan's "Belt and Road Initiative" (the transitional zone between the eastern coastal region and the central and western regions, the junction of the Yangtze River open economic belt and the coastal open economic belt). By 2035, we will have 50 settled enterprises, forming the largest titanium material distribution and intelligent manufacturing base in the central and southern regions, and building a billion level titanium industry cluster. Xiao Xiongjie said that the construction of the "Central Titanium Valley" in Loudi can not only promote the optimization and upgrading of the "Material Valley" industry, but also open up the application channels of titanium raw materials in the west and the east, transform high-quality titanium ore resources in the west, enhance added value, meet the huge demand for high-performance titanium materials in high-end manufacturing industries in the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta, promote the linkage between resources and markets, and achieve high-quality development.
